Coal ash is the leftover waste from coal-fired power plants and is a concentrated mix of toxic pollutants. The Environmental Protection Agency has neglected to set guidelines for disposing this waste, the nation's second largest waste stream.

Earthjustice attorney Lisa Evans has tracked the issue of coal ash for nearly a decade and will discuss what steps need to be taken to protect communities where a containment site is located. Ben Dunham, Earthjustice environmental health policy analyst, will also be on the call to talk about the legislative efforts underway to regulate coal ash.
