The short explanation of this alert was:
Federal judicial posts are lifetime positions, so it's critical that every seat is filled with a fair judge who will reasonably enforce our nation's environmental laws. Unfortunately, the Bush administration has chosen extremists for some of the current vacancies. Please send an email to your Senators and to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT), urging them to take a thorough look at the environmental records of judicial nominees before voting whether or not to confirm them.
