Protect Wolves in the Northern Rockies!
Just when you thought gray wolves were safely back on the endangered species list, the Bush administration has launched another 11th hour attack to strip them of federal protections.
Following its recent failed attempt to remove the wolves from the endangered species list, the administration's Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a proposal allowing Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana to kill nearly 1,000 wolves -- at a time when the wolf population is already declining.
Take action: tell Fish and Wildlife Service to keep the northern Rockies gray wolves on the endangered species list!

Tell EPA to Protect People from Perchlorate Contamination!
Have you heard of perchlorate?
It's a by-product from the manufacture of rocket fuel, ammunition, and flares, and it could be in your drinking water.
Perchlorate affects the thyroid by altering the production of hormones in the body. Most at risk: fetuses, babies, and young children. Pregnant women and people with pre-existing thyroid conditions are also at risk.
Despite the health threat, the Environmental Protection Agency has announced that it would not set limits for perchlorate or require clean-up of drinking water systems.
Take action: tell the EPA to protect the health of millions of American families and set enforceable limits for perchlorate in our drinking water!

Tell the Department of Energy: Prioritize Energy Efficiency!
Right now, the Department of Energy is considering a new standard for fluorescent tube lights and other kinds of light bulbs that over the next three decades will save enough energy to power every household in America for an entire year, and net customers and business over $66 billion in savings.
Tell the DOE that energy efficiency must be at the top of our nation's energy priorities.

EPA Must Clean Up Cement Kilns Now
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given the cement industry a free pass to spew mercury pollution into our air and water for far too long. We must tell EPA it is time to do its job and adopt strong protections against mercury pollution for all U.S. cement kilns, to require cement kilns to test their actual mercury emissions, and to make this information readily available to the public.
Tell the EPA to do its job and clean up mercury pollution!
